2019 Kistler Vineyard Chardonnay Sonoma Valley
Notes
Green-tinged pale yellow. Distinct and delicate perfumes of white spring morning flowers, just ripe stone fruit both skins and flesh, and a subtle minerality akin to wet rock. Softly gripping on the palate with its one-of-a-kind tactile nature which runs all the way through to the finish and gently lifts the powerfully expressive fruit flavors in the mid palate, already buoyed by strong natural acidity. A fitting, classic bottling for our original vineyard in our 40th vintage and a beautiful example of one of our very best sites. Hails from now forty-three-year-old dry farmed vines.

The 2019 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is stunning all the way, with a vibrant, racy, focused, and salty nose of crushed lemons, crushed stone, white flowers, and green almonds. Also gorgeous on the palate, this medium to full-bodied, quintessential, layered, balanced Sonoma Chardonnay is going to shine for a solid decade or more if well stored.

The 2019 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is magnificent. Fresh, floral and translucent, the 2019 is off the charts gorgeous. Dry-farmed Chardonnay is so special here. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2019 is wonderfully elegant and so precise. White flowers, crushed rocks, sage, mint and chalk lend a striking top register to this chiseled, pristine mountain Chardonnay. The 2019 is a truly special wine.

The 2019 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard opens with youthful, smoky graphite and toast, offering crushed almonds and white blossoms with some time in the glass. The palate surprises with its depth of ripe, fragrant fruits and textural, expansive character balanced by mineral tones and bright acidity. It finishes long and lifted. All that intensity and lift will allow it to evolve over the next 3-5 years in bottle and hold in the cellar for 10+ years.

A chunky and rather dense chardonnay that is tight and energetic at the same time. Lilacs and flowers. Full-bodied with chewy tannins. Mountain-fruit character. Dry-farmed. Old-school nature to this. One for aging!
